Review: Diablo (2025)
Ex-con Kris Chaney seizes the daughter of a Colombian gangster to fulfill a noble promise to the young girl's mother. When her father enlists both the criminal underworld and a psychotic killer to exact his revenge, Kris relies on everything he's ever learned to stay alive and keep his word. I'm not sure why they can't keep giving Scott Adkins better roles. He's a talented action actor and deserves a solid movie that shows off his skills. There have been some good action films he's been in, but "Diablo" isn't one of them. The whole movie feels like a low-budget B movie. From the over-the-top story about the daughter who lost her dad, to the cheesy villain who looks like a cartoon version of Captain Hook, and the poorly planned fight scenes, there's not much to enjoy here. I only stayed through half of it before giving up and walking away in disappointment. To sum it up, I'd like to say nice things about Scott Adkins because I like his work, but honestly, this movie is pretty bad overall.
